Chateau du Fey is situated 95 miles south of Paris in the Burgundy. It is a splendid historical monument dating from the 17th century and lovingly restored by its owner, noted cookbook author and teacher Anne Willan.. The interior of the Chateau is welcoming with elegant furnishings and paneling in the main rooms. The accommodations for up to 16 (double occupancy) are very comfortably appointed with antiques and floral fabrics, and all have en-suite or adjacent bathrooms. The chateau has an all-weather tennis court and a heated swimming pool.

In 2006, La Varenne is offering a three-day Taste of Burgundy program, a five-day Master Class and an exciting new program, a five-day Truffles and Champagne program. You'll learn all about French cooking techniques and ingredients as well as explore some of the local wines, dine in style at some of France's finest restaurants in Burgundy while enjoying your stay at the historic Chateau du Fey.

3 Day  Taste of Burgundy - June 25  28 or September 3 6, 2006

 

Sunday: Pick up in Paris at 2:30pm. Chateau welcome and tour. Tasting of artisan cheeses. Le Fey buffet dinner

 

Monday: Sens market visit and shopping. Lunch at a country inn. Participation class and chef's table dinner at       Chateau du Fey

 

Tuesday: Escorted wine tour and tasting in Chablis. Market lunch at chateau. Visiting chef's afternoon demonstration. Champagne reception. Dinner at the 2-star La Madeleine restaurant

 

Wednesday: 9:30 am departure for Paris.

5 Day  Master Classes at La Varenne - July 2 - 7 or September 10 - 15

 

Sunday: Pick up in Paris at 2:30pm. Chateau welcome and tour. Tasting of artisan cheeses. Le Fey buffet dinner

Tuesday: Visiting chef's morning demonstration. Market lunch at chateau. Session with artisan baker at their historic bread oven. Dinner at the 2-star La Madeleine restaurant.

 

Wednesday: Escorted wine tour and tasting in Chablis. Lunch at winemaker's bistro. Afternoon visit to the cathedral city of Auxerre. Chef's dinner at the Chateau du Fey

 

Thursday: Master class with Anne Willan and lunch at chateau. Visiting chef's afternoon demonstration. Champagne tasting and reception. Dinner at the famed 3 star restaurant La Cote St. Jacques in Joigny.

 

Friday  9:30 am departure for Paris.

5 Day  Truffles and Champagne - September 18 - 23

 

Monday: Pick up in Paris at 2:30. Chateau welcome and tour. Tasting of artisan cheeses. Le Fey buffet dinner.

 

Tuesday: Master class with Anne Willan and lunch at chateau. Truffle hunt near Auxerre, winetasting and truffle-themed dinner at starred restaurant: Barnabet.

 

Wednesday: Morning demonstration by visiting pastry chef. After lunch, join an artisan baker at their historic bread oven. Conducted tasting of fine champagnes. Dinner at the one star restaurant: Domaine de Roncemay.

 

Thursday: Escorted wine tour and tasting in Chablis. Lunch at winemaker's bistro. Chef's table supper at Chateau du Fey.

 

Friday: Arrive in Champagne district (Epernay) for Perrier-Jouet vineyard and winery tour. Lunch at La Briquetterie. Shopping break in Epernay and tour of Moet & Chandon caves, followed by exclusive dinner as their guests.

 

Saturday: 9:30 am departure for Paris.
